“The Swelly Life” (album) pushed to 2011, “The Preview” (mini-album) release Oct. 11

Today on Twitter, both the members of Chiddy Bang announced that their debut album, “The Swelly Life,” will be pushed back for a 2011 release.  Chiddy says it will be in February.  Xaphoon says “early 2011.”  Either way, that’s the bad news.  The good news is that the boys have been working to release a mini-album called “The Preview,” which will be released on Oct. 11 in the UK and Oct. 12 in the US.  You can pre-order “The Preview” here.  Check out their tweets below.

According to Altsounds.com, The Preview’

documents the incredible journey the band have had over the last year emerging from underground US blog darlings to become U.S hip – hop’s leading lights.  The prequel features an accomplished breadth of styles and some fantastic collaborations including Pharrell, who co-produced new single ‘Good Life’, Q-Tip who features on the fierce dance floor-friendly dubstep ‘Here We Go’ and Darwin Deez who features on the manic electro curveball , ‘Bad Day’.

    If you think back to an interview in Feb, they didn’t know they were popping an album in any capacity this year, and that on top of the non-stop Pacific hopping tours… they must be working their asses off. So come on Sobes, credit where credits due. Props to them for giving us something fresh, this is certainly their year because they’re doing everything to earn it. 2011 is set to be even better in my opinion!

    It’s funny they decided to title a track “The Good Life” when there’s a Kanye track with pretty much the same title. But the press they’ll get from people thinking it’s a cover definitely won’t hurt. Kanye comparisons are inevitable with Chiddy so might as well invite them directly… controversy sells!
