Past Magazine recently sat down with Xaphoon Jones at an In-N-Out Burger in Los Angeles, exclusively.  They chatted in late June, but this interview has finally surfaced to my attention about a week ago.  Xaphoon talks about his courtship with the record labels, the journey since “The Swelly Express” mixtape, and balancing DJing and many projects with other artists aside from Chiddy Bang.  He also tells a few details about the new album, “The Swelly Life,” due out on Sep. 14.  Here’s a quote from the interview, which you can read here.

We’re definitely [...] continuing the story element [that] “Swelly Express” was built [...] because it was thematic and telling our story. The story of this album [...] is essentially where we are right now. The pros and cons of getting to do the crazy shit we get to do at the pace at which it’s done.
